The Annapurna Nar Phu valley & Tilicho Lake Trek is an ideal for those trekkers who have time and appetite to venture into some of the less trodden remote regions of Nepal beyond the regular trekking routes. This tented camping trek offers the pictorial landscape of recently opened region of Nar and Phu valley, situated just north of popular Annapurna circuit route. The Nar Phu valley topography is trans Himalayan and similar to that of Tibet . Trails are still rugged that has changed little over the years. We spend few days in exploring this remote valley and cross the Kang La pass (5300m) on the way to Manang. Leaving famed Manang we head to Jomsom via the best-kept secret remote trekking route of Meso Kantu pass (5099m) and the world's highest situated outstanding Tilicho Lake (5300m). This less trodden trail offer a more challenging and exciting alternative to the popular Thorong La pass on the Annapurna Circuit trekking route. Day 01: Meet at Kathmandu Airport: We will meet you at the Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to your hotel. When you have had time to settle in and freshen up after your long flight, you will be invited to visit our office for a briefing about your program. During this visit we will help you check your equipment and facilitate the processing of other necessary items such as National Park Permits etc. Day 02: A full days sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley: After breakfast our guide will accompany you on tour of sightseeing around the Kathmandu valley. You will visit the Hindu temple complex at Pashupatinath (a UNESCO World Heritage site) & the biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhanath. You will also visit Swyambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, a 2000 year old temple, and visit Patan City, famous for its fine arts and historical architecture. On return to your hotel you will have time to explore the local area, have dinner and perhaps take a leisurely stroll through the famous Durbar Square , overnight at hotel. Day 03: Drive Kathmandu to Syange/ Jagat (1100 m) Early morning drive to Besisahsar/Bhulbhule through Prithvi High way from Besisahar or Bhulbhule teak a local jeep to Syange the drive is with the view of River, greeneries, local villages and beautiful mountain scenery, from Syange trekking to Jagat overnight in guesthouse, if the drive is late we can stay in Syange also. Day 04: Syange/Jagat trekking to Dharapani (1960 m) After breakfast start the working through jungle after we left Chamje from chamje the trail goes bank of Marshyangdi river mostly climbing before arrive in Tal from here we . We enter Manang district trail continues through barley, rice, potato fields and pine forests past the village of Kodo taking us to Dharapani, which is one of the big villages in the Manang valley. Overnight in Dharapani. Day 05: Dharapani trekking to Koto: (2670 m) Today The trail climbs along the mule track through in and fir forest and then follows the river for a time amongst the higher oak and maple trees. On the way you will have spectacular views of views of major Himalayan peaks. Overnight in Koto Day 07: Koto trekking to Dharmasala (3300m). Start our Narphu valley trekking from Koto today, we will work through a steep and narrow path through the dense forest, after crossing the river the trek leads to Narphu valley with passing the beautiful pine forest with wide waterfall before arrive the Dharmasala, we will get to see seveleral small shelters (caves and a pilgrims “Dharmasala”. Overnight camp at Dharmasala. Day 08: Dharmasala trekking to Kayang (3560m). The trail climb up the valley along the small river before arriving Meta (3700m), a non permanent winter settlement of Nar, the trail passes through white rocks, low shrubs, junipers, scattered evergreen. We can have best Mountain View on the way, after passing the Junam we will arrive Chako formally a Khampa settlement. Overnight at Kayang. Day 09: Kayang trekking to Phu village (4200m) Today we will work steeply down hill along the river bank and past the submarine rock with small campsite. Best view of chortens wit the canyon lands and gorges takes us to the Phu gate from where we can see the three village of Phu, overnight at camp. Day 10: Rest at Phu village for Acclimatization and for explore Phu valley. Again walking up and then coming back down is better than just resting in high altitude, we can walk up to alley to the summer grazing settlement at Ngoru, can spend the time interact with local people visit Gompa, overnight at camp Day 11: Phu village Trekking to Nar (4150m): Today we will trekking back to Phu gate Khyang, Chyarkha and Jhunam to reach to Nar. Along the way we’ll get to see some beautiful gorges and some breathtaking scenery also. We will pass wonderfully painted, bamboo topped Chortens and arrive Nar gates on the top of the hill, overnight in camp at Nar. Day 12: Nar trekking to Kang La Phedi (4500m) Today is easy short trekking day so we can explore more Nar Village in the morning and can trek to Kangla phedi, the trail go through the grazing field with a small stream on the left. The mountains were on the both sides of the stream. On the left breathtaking view of Pisang peak, overnight night at the campsite of Kangla phediDay 13: Kang La Phedi trekking up to Kang La pass (5315m) trek to Ngwal (3675m) We start early morning today for the Spectacular Kang la pass which provides the magnificent view of Pisang peak, Annapurna II, Gangapurna, Tilicho peak, and the airport at Hongde, after crossing the Kang La Pass we will head to Ngwal, a wonderful old village of cobbled streets, prayer wheels and beautiful architecture. Day 14: Ngawal Trekking to Manang (3570m) Today we will work thought flat valley along the bank of Marshyandi River. On the way we will pass pine forest, farming terrace and beautiful village of Braga. En route we can visit Braga monasteries, the view of Annapurna rang and Tilicho peak are closer. Overnight in Manang Day 15: Manang trekking to Letdar (4250m). Today the trail move through alpine pastures to scrubby forests of juniper and rose, with leaving the Marshyangdi the trail ascend up to Tenki. From here continue ascend to Letdar via Yak kharka Day 16: Letdar trekking to Phedi (4420m) or High camp (4600m).from here the trail continue climb along the bank of the Jorsang Khola, It is some time possible to see herds of blue mountain sheep. Stay overnight at Phedi or can continue climbing up to High camp. Day 17: Phedi or High Camp trekking to Muktinath (3800m). From Phedi the trail becomes steep, switch backing up moraines and following rocky ridges as it ascends to the pass. The views from the trail and from the pass are outstanding, you can see the long great barrier ridged, Gangapurna, Annapurna, Thorong peak Khatung Kang peak. From the top the trail descends steeply down to Muktinath. This is one of the most important pilgrimage sights for Hindus. It is also home to many ethnics Tibetans and holy Buddhists. Overnight at Muktinath We ascend steeply to high camp at 4590m then along an undulating trail to the flat top of Throngla( 5416m) from here the trail descend steeply down to Muktinath. It is also home to many ethnics Tibetans and holy Buddhists stay at 3800m Day 18: Muktinath trekking to Jomsom (2715m) via Kagbeni (2810m): Today is easy walk after the great success of Thorong Pass, the trail gradually go down to Jharkot with the picturesque kani (large Gompa) from here the trail stroll among meadows, streams, poplar and fruit trees, finally we arrive Kagbeni a gateway to Upper Mustang, it has posing chortens and ochre-colored Gompas and monastery, you can visit red walled kagchode Thubten Sampheling Gompa which was founded in 1429. After lunch in Kagbeni continue trekking to Jomsom throught windy trail of Kaligandaki valley, overnight at Jomsom.Day 19: Jomsom flight to Pokhara: early morning take a flight to Pokhara, afternoon free on your own, hotel. Day 20: Pokhara to Kathmandu, drive or fly out to Kathmandu, evening join cultural show and Nepali dinner, hotel All trips can be customized and extended as per requirements
